Start with
the right question.

Recipe scaling multiplies the original ingredient amounts by the serving ratio. Cooking conversions use explicit US, metric and Australian units. Converting grams or milligrams into teaspoons requires a known density.

WORKED EXAMPLE

A recipe for four servings becomes six by multiplying each ingredient amount by 1.5. Two US tablespoons are six US teaspoons. Five grams of water occupy about 1.014 US teaspoons.
