Privacy policy
Last updated: 7 November 2026. This policy explains what information CalculatorLab (thecalculatorlab.com, “we”) collects and why.
The short version
- Calculators run in your browser. The numbers you type are not sent to us when you calculate.
- We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which calculators are used. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked first; everyone can decline.
- No advertising cookies, no accounts, and we do not sell or share personal information for advertising.
Calculator inputs and shared links
Calculations happen on your device. To let you bookmark or share a result, the calculator keeps your inputs in the page address (for example ?price=120&percent=20). If you open, bookmark or share such an address, it is handled like any web address: it is sent to our web server when the page loads and is recorded in analytics as the page you viewed. Dates of birth in the age calculator are never added to the address. Do not put information you consider private into a link you share.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google, to measure visits, pages viewed, the type of device and browser, the approximate region, how visitors arrived, and simple events such as using a calculator, loading an example or copying a result (the tool name only, never the numbers entered). Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_<ID>) to recognise a returning browser. Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Google processes this data under its own terms and privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy).
We use Google Consent Mode. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, analytics cookies are off until you choose “Accept analytics”. Elsewhere they are on unless you choose “Decline”. You can change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page. Your choice is stored in your browser’s local storage under the name clab_consent.
Contact form
If you send a message, we receive your name, email address, the topic, any page address you give and your message. We use them only to read and answer your message, and keep them only as long as needed for that and for our records of reported errors. We do not add you to any mailing list.
Hosting and security
The site is hosted by Hostinger. Like any web server, it records technical information about requests (such as IP address, time, page requested and browser type) in short-lived server logs used for security and to keep the site running. The site is served through Hostinger’s content delivery network and caching.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EEA and UK, or under U.S. state privacy laws such as the CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict its use. To make a request, use the contact form. Analytics data is held by Google in aggregated, pseudonymous form that we generally cannot link to a specific person; declining analytics cookies prevents it being collected.
Children
CalculatorLab is a general-audience site. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and its date.
